World Economic Forum: Future of Jobs
Lab founder, Professor Alexander Betts, participated in last week’s World Economic Forum Growth Summit on ‘Jobs and Opportunity for All’. The Summit coincides with publication of the Future of Jobs report, which shows how jobs and the the skills needed for them are changing rapidly.
Professor Betts was invited to speak at a University Leaders session on university-business collaboration, to share what we’ve been doing at the Lab as an example of how universities can collaborate with business to enable students to acquire many of the transferrable skills they are likely need for the future. Our approach of an integrated 17 week training programme + 4 week field lab placement, all working closely with partner organisations, resonated with other university and business leaders as a model for training and real-world impact.
