The Lab hosted its inaugural Discovery Day at Cohen Quad, Exeter College, a vibrant gathering where curiosity and collaboration took centre stage. Staff and students came together to delve into the Lab's impactful work, gain exclusive insights into exciting new programmes and initiatives for the 2024-2025 academic year, and connect with our dynamic team, current Fellows and each other. Guests explored past projects brought to life through engaging illustrations and insightful reflections from our Fellows and Partners, offering a powerful glimpse into the Lab's transformative impact and the invaluable skills cultivated through SDG-focused initiatives.

Key moments of the afternoon included inspiring introductions to the Lab by Co-founders Dr Edward Brooks and Professor Alexander Betts, joined by COO Ashley Cavers, who provided a compelling overview of the Lab's Masterclass Series, Fellowships and the Oxford Laidlaw Scholars Programme. The highly anticipated panel discussion, chaired by Professor Alexander Betts, brought together a distinguished group of speakers: Dr Laurence Wainwright of The Oxford Smith School, Emma Coles of the Oxfordshire Inclusive Economy Partnership, Ramona Dienel of BMW Group Oxford/Swindon, and former Lab Fellow Reema Mohamed. 

The fresh perspectives on sustainability, inclusive growth, and innovation in addressing global challenges sparked thought-provoking conversations. The audience participated in a dynamic Q&A session, during which key takeaways highlighted the importance of diverse disciplines and backgrounds, the power of interdisciplinary collaboration and the value of initiatives like the Lab's Programmes, which empower the next generation with the skills and confidence to become future leaders and make a lasting impact.

The event concluded with a vibrant networking session, where participants forged meaningful connections and explored opportunities to join a growing community dedicated to driving sustainable change.
